      Cooking directions on the stove: 1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.* 2. Stir in rice.** 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed. **Add 1 tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired. *Cooking measurement chart: Rice: 1cup - 2cups - 3cups. Water: 1- 1/2 cups - 3cups – 4- 1/2 cups. Yield: 3cups - 6cups - 9cups. Servings ( 3/4 cup cooked): 4 - 8 - 12. For drier rice, use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water. Cooking directions in the microwave***: 1. In a 2-quart microwave-safe dish, combine 1- 3/4 cups water and 1 cup rice.** 2. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power; microwave for 10 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. ***It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary.
